Hi

I will be providing some test results when comparing temperature between a NUC 54250WYK running inside the original NUC case and one NUC 54250 WYB running inside an Akasa Newton H case.

Setup is as follow:

- Both have 16GB ram

- Both running Windows 8.1 x64

- Both having a Sandisk SSD 256GB

I used CPUID HWMonitor and CPUID PerfMonitor2, both latest, and I simulated CPU load using cpustress.exe from Microsoft which was setup with following settings:

- 3 out of 4 threads set with: priority as Above Normal and activity as Maximum

- 1 thread running with Normal priority and activity as Busy

PerfMonitor2 showing a 90%+ average CPU usage across all cores.

Now onto the thing that is most interesting, temperatures.

I will provide some stats in the next few days but so far what I have seen is that CPU core temperatures are around 10 degrees C under when in the Akasa Newton H case compared to the NUC original case.

I have ordered more thermal compound to replace the original one from Akasa and ordered another thermal pad and I will rerun the tests (the reason why I'm doing that is that I'm getting sudden restarts on the Akasa Newton H one which might be related to one part of the chip not properly cooled, maybe the PCH part).
