so did another test with the new 0323 bios:
system setup:
- Intel Core i5-4570
- Intel DH87RL
- Kingston ValueRAM DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1600, CL11 (KVR16N11S8K2/8)
- ASUS HD7790-DC2OC-1GD5 DirectCU II OC
- Enermax Triathlor 300W ATX 2.4
- Scythe Mugen 4 (SCMG-4000)
- Corsair Carbide Series 200R
monitor is connected via DVI on the addon graphics card
test procedure:
- flashed bios version 0323
- go into visual bios -> load setup defaults (F9)
- now: enable secure boot in bios (i have a secure boot enabled installation of windows 8.1)
outcome:
system does work, **** does not have any video output until the system is fully booted...
so, better than before but still somewhat strange... because if i connect the monitor to the onboard dvi connector, i get a warning the my addon-grapics-card is not secure boot capable... which seems not to matter when the system is fully booted?
...finally disabled secure boot only again and enabled legacy boot...
...another flaw i did discover: if i enable fast boot, you should be able to enter visual bios via the "power button" menu... this does not work, i get 3 beeps but no prompt (perhaps this does also not work with a discrete graphics card??)
...crappy board with even crappier bios... i know why i bought an asrock board for my homeserver...
