Sorry if it is a wrong place; I can not find or identify any "meta" site or "about" site. Some of the polls are visible in https://communities.intel.com/polls
How could I create polls? It seems not all the polls are very high-quality or clear; so I assume everyone can create a poll.
I have sent you a PM.

Just installed IDSA 3.1.2.2.
When I click on "Check For New Drivers", Chrome opens the following link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/idsa-faq.html
Any way to make it working again? I can't check for driver updates now.
I'm running Windows 10 Pro; Version 1709; Build 16299.192 on Intel NUC Kit NUC5i3RYH.
For those interested, I've created a tool which runs in the taskbar and allows you to enable/disable your NVidia GPU quickly and easily. I will release the source code at some point (once I've cleaned it up a bit) but for now you can get it from here
You need to ensure you extract all the files and run the tool as an Administrator or else it won't do anything.

Hello,
It's been a few weeks since my computer started going to sleep mode when I was using internet.
A few days ago, I went to a computer reparing guy, who said there was some issue with the card settings and the driver, putting the computer to sleep mode when i was using too much data.
So he "fixed it", YouTube and Facebook were working well, but twitch livestream kept putting my computer to sleep mode.
And now it's back to what it was
Before giving him my computer, I ran 3 antiviruses, and reseted it completly,
I've researched answers on internet, but I can't find anything related to my problem.
So i'm turning to you guys, hoping that you can help me.
My card is an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260, and the last last driver is installed : 19.50.1.6
My computer is a ASUS T302CHI, Windows 10.
Thank you.
Thanks, Martin, you've been very helpful. I was just asking that question because I didn't have to do anything for things to work until now. Maybe it was has to do with the drivers from Asus and Creative, which are better than Realtek ones, which have definitely something missing.
I'll try the steps you suggested when I get home today and post back.
Cheers
This is actually a better solution than running the dGPU all the time, since it would stop killing the battery.
Yea that is my primary problem with other solutions, running 3D enabled apps in the background just creates more heat and drains the battery faster.
Not ideal at all for a laptop.
Well,
technically it cannot be useful and we cannot stay further in discussion until update of 15.60.2.4901
Hi again,
Sorry for answering until now, I try to stay away from work during weekends (and that includes replying in Forums )
Thanks for the information provided, I think I am putting together the puzzle pieces, yet there is something that is pinching in my brain on this one. After the screen was replaced, did you perform a clean Windows installation?
Looking forward to hearing from you again.
Regards,
Ronald M.
Yes
In fact, It was not so long ago when I discovered that my laptop contains a m-sata connector plus the sata connector. I used the sata connector with linux (where the screen works and as you can see the EDID can be read) and I took the advantage of this m-sata to install a ssd with windows 10 and... I got the eDP1 screen working only if I use the microsoft basic display driver.
There are good videos on YouTube on how to get your Windows 7 to work with your 7th Gen CPU. Just search there for: "Fix for Windows 7 drivers for Intel 7th gen HD graphics".
Intel is in bed with Microsoft to force users to get Windows 10 - but you will find their hardware can be made to work with Windows 7 easily, showing that it is just their choice to prevent users from doing it easily.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was thinking that perhaps there was a conflict with the Windows registry entry (which includes the EDID) from the previous screen vs. the new one, but if it is a clean OS installation then I doubt that's the case.
Based on all the information we got so far, I am leaning towards this being an issue caused by the new screen and the current VBIOS programming.
Honestly I do not think it is a driver bug in its current form, otherwise this would have been a problem with the previous screen as well. Unfortunately our Windows driver is very dependent of the EDID, and if this one is missing then it reads of the VBIOS for eDP. My best suggestion would be contacting Acer* support, since they are the OEM and should be able to provide further guidance.
Feel free to post here any findings or conclusions from Acer* and I'll try to help to the best of my capacity.
Best Regards,
Ronald M.
Hi Brdja. Please clear the browser cache/history in Chrome and try running the IDSA scan again. It should work for you after you clear the cache. Please let me know if you are able to successfully run the scan.
Thanks,

Hello MuchFarid,
Thank you for sharing the requested information.
The reason you are not seeing the memory is because when system acceleration is enabled, the Optane™ Memory module becomes hidden as part of the concatenation process. If the OS is reinstalled without disabling first, the module will remain hidden until reset via BIOS or secure erase.
There is a couple of procedures that have helped some customers recover the memory after not disabling it as recommended.
Could you please try the following steps and share images if at any point you encounter an error message?
1. Open an Administrator Command Prompt (Right click on your start menu icon, select "Command Prompt (Admin)" from the list).
2. Type "diskpart" and press enter.
3. Type "list disk" to display a list of your connected storage devices. Here you should be able to see your memory module, note the disk number.
4. Type "Select Disk 1" and press enter. Make sure to adjust to match the disk number displayed for your module.
5. Type "Clean all" and press enter. Diskpart will proceed to low-level format your memory module, this process may take several minutes. You will not see a progress bar, but a blinking cursor. Once the command completes you may close command prompt.
Alternatively, you may reset your Intel® Optane™ Memory module from within your BIOS. Keep in mind that these settings will vary depending on your motherboard brand and model, you may need to contact your hardware vendor or review your manual if the settings we provide are not a match for your system. The following steps are for ASUS* UEFI BIOS:
1. Open your UEFI BIOS Utility.
2. Switch to "Advanced Mode" by pressing the F7 key.
3. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
4. Scroll down to "Intel® Rapid Storage Technology" and enter.
5. Select your Intel® Optane™ Memory. May display as something along the lines of "PCIe 1.0, Intel MEMPEK1W0......", enter.
6. Under "Disk Actions:" there should be an option to "Reset to non-Optane." This option will reset your module and allow you to detect and enable it again.
Once you have followed these steps, you will be able to restart your computer and enable system acceleration once again.
Please let me know how these turn out, I’ll be waiting for your response.
Regards,
Andres V.
Hello sailee94,
We understand that you're experiencing issues enabling hosted networks with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265.
Are you using Windows 10* or a different operating system?
Windows 10* uses a different driver model from previous releases that no longer supports hosted and ad-hoc networks for our latest wireless adapters. However, you can use the mobile hotspot feature on Windows 10* to share your Internet connection over Wi-Fi.
Please refer to the following article for more details and instructions to configure mobile hotspot:
- Why Hosted and Ad-Hoc Networks are Not Working on Windows® 10
